Yes P&WOR members (and anyone else out there) its show time.
We have another space only pitch at the Classic Motor Show in Birmingham on the 13, 14 and 15 November.
We did very well last year at this show, winning best small stand of the show...so do you think we can do it again? Should we?? I know things are tight for all of us this year and that is why I have mentioned it in the traction magazine and have started a thread here.
I have a couple of ideas on how we can best use the space. Im basing the stand on the launch of the phase 2 (which was released in the late spring of 1959) this year and I will be drawing up my ideas and then contacted the relevant people for cars etc.
So..
Are you coming?
All are welcome but unfortunately I cannot supply tickets!
Can you help?
It is hard work talking to people and helping on the stand and if you could do a few hours on one day it would give the others a chance to take a break or even have a look round.
Could you donate?
This is the big deciding factor, we, as a club do not hold any funds and generally if I need anything I pay for itbut not this project!
The TR Register has very kindly offered to help with the cost of insurance for the stand, so thats one off the listbut theres plenty more to cover.
Last year we raised about £450 (plus I did use a lot of favours up!) from all corners and I thank you all. This year we will need more as we are in hall 1 which is the very shiny hall with lots of purpose built stands etc but I still want us to stand out.
Perhaps you should have a paypal link off this page to tempt all the visitors to contribute. It'll be difficult to top the prize winner from last year, it will be interesting to hear what the plans are.
I'll have a dig down the back of the sofa and under the carpets and I'm sure I'll find some loose change from somewhere. Anything else that you need, you know where to find me.
Oh, and can you add Lesley and I for the Great Malvern Barbie please?
We'll add a few scheckels to the show pot! Add even more if Frank can be persuaded to put on a Barbie outfit! Although the Warwick will be at Malvern from Thurs night Ian and I won't be there till late Saturday night and I'm afraid Peter Peerless won't be there at all. We have to be at Lydden race track all day Saturday and will be driving straight to Malvern after racing finishes on Saturday. Big clash of events unfortunately. See you all there.
WELL, your beloved leader is sitting here the worst for wear (too many beers, bad week)(in training for next week!) and I thought I better check the old forum....ha ha the old reactions are still pretty good because I started to spit beer (only a wee drop) as soon as I saw the Barbie thread because I thought of FJ, straight away!!! Thank god (and all other denominations) FJ isnt on line
