Ive finally managed to break my Peerless window winder mechanism that is, to round off the square aperture in the round mechanism backplate where the four cornered shaft is inserted. This backplate is made of a zinc based alloy which seems too soft to withstand the stress in the long run. As the chances for obtaining a spare will be dim Im currently investigating the possibility of having this backplate remanufactured possibly having it CNC-machined out of solid steel. At present it is not yet clear if it will work out and of course I dont have a price yet, but there might be the possibility to have a few more made - is there any interest in this spare part?
