Latest News – Peerless at Beaulieu

If anyone's going to Beaulieu MotorMart this weekend then pop in to the Classics Monthly restoration tent and say hello.

My Phase 1 rolling shell will be on display.

Might prove useful for anyone needing reference photos?

All the best
Gary

I went to Beaulieu and can confirm the Stretton Peerless does exist, although I did have my doubts beforehand because it's so seldom mentioned nowadays in his column.
Gary mentioned this forum and this is my first visit,  perhaps now I can get some advice on where to find those bits I need to progress with my phase 2 restoration

I need a standard 10 passenger door handle, I couldn't find one at Beaulieu and will try Duxford this weekend, but I feel I should be spending my time putting the car back together. has anybody got a spare door handle

I also need the metal strips that go at the top of each door and holds the rubber strip against the window any ideas ?

The frame around the rear lights, the Ashridge foundry ( whats it off page ) are no longer answering the phone.

And I still need a pair of front bumpers. Can anyone help ?

Yes, I was worried that Gary was losing his way a bit
and getting distracted by MM's and other tin toys.
I guess he has to keep the readership amused, but I'm sure
he'll reappear when the bar opens.

Door Handle without key?
Standard Pennant rear (and probably some other S/T cars)
but now as rare as Chicken Lips.  Don't break or loose the
little shoe that fits at the front, I was quoted £25 EACH
to cast a small batch.

Lights/Surrounds/lenses:
http://www.holden.co.uk
Code=L548, but arrange your overdraft first!

Door Trim
Just a strip of ali with the rubber from:
http://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/c-124-strip.aspx
Part No:  88-2-1/16

I'm sure that Celia can get front Bumpers made up,
I can let her have a pattern if she needs one.

Thanks for the advice Frank, Holden are new to me, it's good to know I can get the rear lights if I win the lottery.
and thanks Nigel how do I progress with the front bumpers ?
I have had the door window frame silver soldered and now need to get it rechromed. I'm hopeing the repair will hold but the frame looks cosiderably thinner around the repair. If you have a frame I'd be interested before I go any further.

Not so much the MM or the other tin, Frank.

The addition of a three (now four) year old and a 7 month old daughter has curtailed my spare time.

The temporary loss (5 months) of our workshop didn't help either.
Back on track now with the workshop, so hence the renewed vigour

cheers
G
