can I pick the brains of those who have been there before and lived to tell the tale with the following items please?
Suspension bushes front and rear. TR3? I want to fit poly bushes.
Alternator conversion lookung for a suitable donor alternator that is compact with high output ( for electronic ignition, driving lamps, twin electric cooling fans etc) I know Revington TR do a very nice conversion using a tiny Japanese unit. Late Daihatsu Charade and Nissan Micra units could be a possibility. Other suggestions welcome.
Webasto sunroof - Will an MGB or similar popular classic version fit, bearing in mind the curvature of the roof?
Has anyone fitted a later TR6 type heater valve which allows temperature control from the dashboard?

FF says: All the suppliers will sell you poly bushes, replacing the horrible front upper inner spunge devices is essential. My preference is for Nylatron all round, very direct response, but a bit harsh and noisy for more delicate souls. Nylatron in the spring shackles also helps to limit lateral axle movement without fitting a panhard rod.

FF says: The narrow conversion kit and pulleys is the expensive bit, a regular Lucas TR4 alternator does the job, looks right, and easy/cheap to get a replacement if/when it fails. Tiny ones are Very expensive, and may give no more output. There are two options for belt length, you need the longer one.

FF says: Need to talk to Graham about this.
Has anyone fitted a later TR6 type heater valve which allows temperature control from the dashboard?
FF says: Why? Summer = Cold settimng, Winter = Hot setting. The heater/fan doesn't do anything much apart from demist the tax disk, getting heat OUT of the cabin is normally the problem. A Warwick has a hot/cold control slider nob on the dash, but it also has the later pattern Smiffs Heater, so you are actually controlling something. (Nick one from an MGB when you get the sunroof)
That's all for now. All help gratefully received.
All the best Gary.
FF Says: Really looking forward to seeing you at Le Mans.
