S.U Fuel Pumps

Hi all

One of my pumps is knackered so needs to be overhauled.  I have spoken to Burlen about a refurb kit and was planning to rebuild the pump but they told me I have the wrong type fitted.  I have 2 low pressure pumps - designed to suck, not push.  Apparently I need high pressure pumps that push....

It is obviously cheaper to rebuid what I have but is it false economy if they are the wrong type?  I guess having 2 pumps gives some  spare capacity...

What type do you all have?

Hi joe,
I'm runnin on ...shhhhh MGB pumps, I have run all sorts of cars on electric pumps over the years and promised myself that the peerless would have new new pumps so I didnt have any grief, and i havent. smile
I was told i needed high pressure pumps but I thought an MGB is around the same wieght/cc/bhp etc so I bought them...and they were cheap.
i opened them up, gave them a good wiff of WD40 and taped them up real well so the damp didnt get in, touch wood they have given me 8 years trouble free feed......yea thats put the kiss of death on that thencry

Thanks Nigel

I can't believe you have admitted in public you have fitted MG parts to your car, the shame if it!!!!

Where are the pumps fitted on an MGB, bulkhead or at the back?
