Heater ventilator type and position??

Does anyone out there know what type of heating ventilator should be fitted to a Phase one Peerless, probably a Smiths item?

I don’t have a clue, there wasn’t one with the car when I bought it.

I do know it should be fitted in the left wheel arch, just behind the headlight, but that’s all.

Can anyone please send me a (few) picture(s) to show me how it should be fitted?

Email: erikdevries@eaton.com

Thanks for the help,

Erik

Hi Erik,

Yes it is a commom component of the time, looks a bit like and old style hair dryer (contact the registra as I beleive he has an abundance of unused ones) mine has given up and I must get round to fixing it.When I do I will probably replace it with a euro box one that may blow more air.

Hi Erik,

Our Ph2 has a large air tube from behind the LH headlamp through the top of the wheelarch to a heater/blower mounted on the bulkhead behind the engine.  I am sure this is non-standard, but I must say it is very effective, even though it is a (whispers) MGB heater.  If you would like pictures, I can send some - let me know.

I hope yours is still moving forwards well (sounds like it).

Regards,

Nick

Yea I've thought of the same intake area. At the moment it's a 50mm dia intake facing out into the air stream in the "mouth" of the grill.

I thought of taking air from one headlamp for the heater and one headlamp for the carbs.

But of course this would not be standard and so could not condone such a move!

Thanks,

Is the heater/blower (MGB) combination maybe the same as used on the Warwicks?

Nigel, what's a eurobox, i don't know.
