Hi
Is it possible to buy a full sett of drawings for the chassis, so I can get a local shop to build me one?

Hi
I realy need a ansver if I either can buy drawings for the chassis, or even bether buy a new chassis from you.

My aim is to rebuild the car, but if I cannot get a chassis I will sell the car in parts on e-bay.
I got the rear window, all badges, steering wheel, door handles and all the hard-to-find parts. Annyone interested?

Isn't it possible to buy a chassis in the UK and collect it yourself by ferry?  Or see if the manufacturer can get a cost for shipping to your home?

A few years ago I shipped an entire (VW) roof section from UK to Portugal and it was less than £100.  Ask the supplier to take extra care when crating the chassis up - you don't want it bent when it arrives with you!

This is exactly what I want, but somone need to tell me the price, and if it is available. I am willing to pay somone to make me one, and I am willing to pay the shipping to Norway. But someone need to tell me how I can get this chassis.
I have left notes in this forum, and in TR Register forum and I have contacted the company who makes them. I also e-mailed directly to this club address, but I still asking the same questions.......

Hello Atle,

sorry to hear your thinking of breaking 0153 for spares.
I'm sure you'd find plenty of homes for the rare parts.
But it would be a greater shame to lose the car completely.
I saw 153 before Joachim bought it and had agreed to buy it from the owner in Crawley..
As with most classic car restorations, there is always that stage where you pull back at the thought of the work involved.
Don't give up.
Someone will be able to help you with the drawings/dimensions.
I don't know  how much work has been done to car in Joachim's time but I do have photos of it taken in the Crawley garage it was stored in.
You're welcome to see them.

Yes it is a shame breaking the car, but I will not use time and effort on such a trivial case as the frontpage on this site announce these chassis on sale. I need to know the price on it, and I need to get a shipping cost on it. Can it bee so hard?

The car has prviously got a new chassis, but according to Erik's drawings it has wrong measurements..... I want to do it right the first time, otherwise I will not start.

Hi Atle,

We can supply either a chassis or drawings for one. Please don't scrap the car, if need be we will buy it off you rather than have that happen. Where are you? I'm sure we can work something out. A chassis would be £1,500.00 plus shipping if you go down that route. We don't carry them in stock but could make one. Stuart has them in stock but we don't have a contact number or price for him. We will try to find out through Nigel our registrar. If you want drawings we haven't got them but would take them off one of our chassis. We can't do anything until June owing to pressure of work. Let us know.

Hi Atle Granby,
I do apologise for not replying to your postings on the forum but unfortunately work (what there is of it) has to come first in this present climate.
I have spoken to Stewart whose chassis are posted on the front page of the site (by the previous registrar) and he informs me that they cost £2000 + shipping.
His private number is 07860 213045

I do hope that you will carry out the restoration as they are a joy to drive/own.

If there is anything else we can help with then please ask and I will try and answer your queries with the utmost urgency in future.

Regards
Nigel

Hi Nigel

I understand your job is pri one.
Celia and Ian say £1500 and you £2000 + shipping. This is a price I can live with. But the question is: Since Stewart can make the chassis he must have drawings. Is it possible to get a pdf. copy of them?
If so I will get a price from my local weld shop to do the job for me.

Everybody:
My intensons is to rebuild this car!
All the mecanic parts I will deal with my self, by welding I cannot do. And I will try to restore the body and interior myself.

Best regards
Atle Granby

when I spoke to Stewart he said that he has sold two, has one for sale but wants to keep one back as a template to make more if there needed. I therefore think that he just copied the original to make these.....and will copy these to make more!wink
I have one other avenue to try for dimentions and will report back soon.
