An update

I hope to get #118 during the week of Jan 30th, providing the shipping works out on time, and then be up and running shortly after that.  Looking forward to it arriving.

The documentation arrived today, and in skipping through it, there is a substantial amount of information that comes from the previous owner.   Notably, there a couple of Peerless & Warwick registry newsletters from the 70's, and membership/owner registers from December 1974 and June 1977.  They cover both UK and US members.   I can get them copied and sent over to you Nigel.

One interesting thing that jumped out is in a letter from a UK owner to the then-owner of #118 in 1986.   He states that the windscreen is compatible with a 57 Morris Oxford  and by extension the Hindustan Ambassador.  If Auto Windscreens don't always come through, there could be a steady supply from India

Hello Dave,

well done on your purchase of 118.

The 57 Morris Oxford reference is certainly intriguing. What doesn't add up though is that the Argic codes are unique for both Peerless/Warwick screens. Nigel and I have investigated the Oxford claim but it proved unfounded to the best of our knowledge and that of the windscreen experts we've consulted so far. A basic Google image search to compare both cars suggests neither front or rear MO screen is the same as the PW screen.

Ultimately though, new laminated (optional heated) screens has to be the way to go even if another screen more than 50 years old does fit.

All the best,

i must try and get a pic of these two cars parked together to dispel this mith once and for allhmm

hopefully this may show how short the Peerless screen really is compared to another low volume production car of the period.

No contest in the looks department. The Phase 1 has far more enigmatic styling than the Reliant.
