The German view on the Peerless at Leman 58

Evening all

found on that auction site and bought a copy of the German magazine Das Auto Motor und Sport 1958.  just wanted to see the German angle of the teams attachment. Especially as we were not big brand hitters, 1st timers.  really surprised to find a picture of the car and praise in the text, for the plastic car. I have used google translate so hope it its OK.  Please can any one help on how I can get the whole article translated. The translation and magazine will end up in the registers archive

thanks

Hi, your personal translator

First of all I would point out that my English is not perfect, but I think it`s still better than a translation program. By the way this short text is a good example why you should never ever learn German all that scary subordinate clauses terrifying!!!

The only started Peerless wasn´t really fast, but it run very evenly and finished the race. The Peerless is a prototype with a fiberglas body and a modified 2-liter engine made by Triumph. The Peerless finished the race, but with a delay of 870 km to the winner.

Right: The british driver Naylor on Lister-Jaguar. Behind Arange he had a malfunktion on his gearbox and had to stop. Naylor removed the gearbox himself and made makeshift repairs. In the end he could reach the boxes on it`s own.

Remark: The word Kunststoffkarosserie is not meant nagativ, but in this context it is a little bit old-fashioned.

Best regards,

Till
