Sadly, like most of the things that came with BP, if they were longer than the card board box he had for storage then they were folded in half (or thirds) to fit
So yes, I will have a pair please and let me know finished costs and postage. I'm not desperate to obtain and fit as I have a modern equivalent fitted (all rubber, no ali) and works well but "one day"
I really should put the car back to original so you could hand deliver them when you come over for the IWE
I too managed to restore mine and with the rubber from Woolies. Bit disappointed to hear it doesn't last, though. But then, what does, these days as far as remanufactured parts for classics are concerned.
I could well be interested in a set, Erik if, as Frank suggests, they're likely to last longer.
Put me up for a set Eric! I will start the restoration of my Phase II quite soon. I have gathered most of the needed, hard to find, parts but I could do with new and better alloy strips/seals.
Tooling is now ready, however it still needs some dimensional tweaks.
I need to heaten the alloy sheet to make it softer, otherwise cracks appear in the profile. Also the rolls and alloy sheet need to be greased to allow the alloy to slide into the forming groove.
I first tried to form the profile in only one pass, but that is too much deformation at once. The final picture shows the result of two passes through the rolls.
I'm getting close.
If all goes well, i have enough base material to make 12 sets of these.
