2020 meetings

Well there's a heading we all thought might never raise its head in these troubled times.

I see on tinternet that The Historic Specials Day at Burford is going ahead this Sunday, 9th August

I will be going but I must stress if you are thinking of coming please keep an eye out for any changes on social media

Last up date I have (9th August) says driver gets in for free, passenger(s) pay group rate on the gate. They are not accepting any other payment/tickets from the public just from us special onesbiggrin

I did say to the Present Mrs Cluley that I would buy an E Ticket from their site for her anyway as it will support the wildlife park who have been very good over the years supporting this little meeting and for them to not use covid as an excuse (as so many other organisations have done) is very good of them.

It is a small, open air event for like minded enthusiasts with public access to toilets and some refreshments if required. (please check their site  https://www.cotswoldwildlifepark.co.uk/ )

......so if your idea of a day out is to spread yourself out on the beach, light a BBQ, be obnoxious to locals, use someone else's property as a toilet and leave all your rubbish behind...this ain't the gig for you my friend!

had a very nice day down at Burford. Richard Disbrow from the Historic Specials club made use welcome, weather was excellent as were the cars!

Although the Gilbern did need a little TLC....

Nigel: glad you and Di got some sunshine, and looks like an impressive turnout of cars, considering our current problems.
But what's the car next to yours (No 41)?

The one next to mine was a Tornado Talisman, very pretty car and well sorted race wise.

re white, red and blue cars, Ashley GT's and beyond them was a Rochdale Olympic on a trailer, for sale and had never been on the road in 60 years!

I didn't realize that Ashley made their own cars, I thought they only made body kits for Midgets/Sprites. Learn something new every day

I think the green car in the distance might be a Rochdale GT. I had one a few years ago. I could well be wrong though as I'm only looking on my mobile atm. Laptop in for repairs.

I loved my Rochdale GT. That and my Gilbern Invader MK lll are the 2 cars I really regret selling.
