I viewed and agreed to buy GEH from its subsequent owner near Gatwick in May 2005. I had to withdraw from the sale when my house sale fell through and that's how it became available again for Atle to buy and take to Finland.
The photo is one of many I took that day. Little did I know back then about the incorrect chassis repairs at the front, but in hindsight, it was still worth it.
In truth I'm glad I walked away from that one. Someone had cut the chassis tube s around the dash and A pillars to lift the body off, and somehow expected to weld them back to the new chassis. Atle ended up making a whole replacement chassis, but I don't know if he ever finished the car.
The Warwick was little better, no engine, box and missing most of the front suspension. Chassis was twisted and repaired with angle iron. By the time I bought it from Ken, I'd done a phase 2 and it didn't frighten me anymore.
I'd love to know any early history of this message trial brings one up.
