Yes, another door related question.

I just bought window channel from Woolies and, yes it will fit the frame but the glass would need to be about 1mm thick to go up and down in it.

Can anyone point me in the right direction of the correct channel please? Their Part No. 51 is the one I bought but it's way too tight.

You need felt mate.

Woollies 87-1-1/8

Don't be tempted to use the 1/16, the Windows will slide really easy, but will rattle.

I think you just push/feed it in creating a U shape, Think I used a steel rule (but with my memory Doreen I'd be wary)

Don't be shy with the gloo, or you'll be stripping the door to retrieve the felt when it falls out.

 I've just been looking on Wollies for the same thing (after 25 years my door glass is rattling!) and cant find part no 87?

 I think I fitted this first image but should it be the second one hmm

Still there.

Under Seals-Plain Felt. £2.08/M

Think the first pic is the one I tried originally. Way too tight for the glass.

thanks Mike, didnt lookat the real old school flat felt stuff! I'll give it a go but I'm still running (yes Frank after 25 years disbelief) 5mm acrylic windows so this might be to tight??

just braved the cold winds and taken a closer look at the chrome frame, it has a return on the inner edges, is this to hold the flat felt trim in place.....either I forgot about that or never noticed! probably both!!

Yes, there's a lip.  However if you use the 1/16 felt, the window rattles on the lip.

While you've got all in bits, you also get a rattle from the door opening rod, which needs padding.

Have you fixed your winders get Nigel?

Nigel, yes, the felt has to fit inside the lip and has to be trimmed down from Wollies standard size. As Frank states, I used the 1/8th felt and the standard glass fits fine. Not sure about your 5mm acrylic, though as I can't remember how thick the glass is.

I think the glass is about 4 to 5mm thick anyway and here seems to be a spec based on 4.7mm for a lot of this type of thing

Woolies 317 is what you need. 4 metres for both sides. The frame lip retains it nicely, just need to work it in, baby.

well 317 is what I used before but perhaps its collapsed a little as my "glass" rattles and has done for sometime confuse
