engine stand


hello   has anyone rebuilt an engine using a engine stand before  .. only just bought an engine stand to do just that .. took a few steps back and thought kind of don't like the idea of it now.....where and how you bolt the block to the plate just dosnt look strong enough....confuse

Depends on which engine stand you have but you will very likely have to make some custom brackets.

Please do not mount it to the starter motor casting alone!

I bought one of these stands ages ago when they were on offer at Machine Mart.

It would be great for Austin seven or Fiat 500s but a TR engine is HEAVY and there's nowhere to mount it without great long bolts.

In the end I built my TR engines on an ancient workmate, same as all the other engines I've done over the years.

I sold the stand on at a loss without ever using it.

It comes close to the metal folder as the most useless tool I've bought.

Hi. I have one of these stands. I used it so far for triumph vitesse so 6 cylinder engine. All worked well. Mine is a heavy duty one. I checked rating before buying. Attachment was via brackets that came with it. Just had to source correct bolts. All worked well. Ju byst take care when turning ovet suggest two people when doing do.
