Evening All, Would anyone please have a photo of a Peerless GT Racing in the 50s or 60s on Wire wheels? If so I would very much appreciate a look at it via email or on here. Thank you very much, fingers crossed!
Evening. Of the images I have seen. Not sure they were raced on wires Not sure people raced on wires as they would not take the punishment of raceing. The lemans car was on solid wheels.
Here is a photo given to me by Dan Todd, brother of John Todd. John Todd was the "American student at Cambridge University who arranged for the GM aluminum V8 engines to be sent to England" referred to in all of the Peerless/Warwick histories. John was heavily involved in the Warwick V8 and brought the first protype back to the United States to race. He and his brother Dan drive the car in many SCCA events including the 1962 24 hours of Sebring.
Prior this he owned a Peerless which he drove and raced while at Cambridge. Attached is a photo of it racing in May 1959 at Snetterton as noted. Appears to have wire wheels.
According to Dan this car was totaled in a road accident in Germany.
