Buy with confidence from TRGB. It's the 1977 tax disc that cinches it for me.

This is one of the reasons Single Vehicle Approval tests were invented.

I am curious as to what engine and transmission are in this "car". A little less nose and it would be a little better.

RE:

Now 'off' ebay. Had a quick look at the original listing and had to laugh when I read under 'Item Specifics Modified Item-No' Maybe it's been withdrawn because of the hilarity it's caused here. Would somebody be stupid enough to pay 5k for it?? Maybe a job for our esteemed registrar?? Go on Nigel, you know you want to.

Shouldn't there be a law against this?

Well Eric, there is, if you want to drive it.

Without documentation (the V5 registration) the new owner would have to convince the DVLA that this is the vehicle that the number plate says it is.

If there is enough evidence to prove that this is a genuine 197x "macari" and there is a supporting letter from a DVLA recognised owners club then it might be legal. If this fails then it's treated as a new vehicle and it will need a Single Vehicle Approval test. Historic vehicles generally won't pass this.

Someone will have an uphill battle, just look in this forum at the game Jim is having with the last Warwick.

Given that a quick search of the DVLA site comes up 'Not Found' for the reg number, an uphill struggle is a bit of an understatement. Just looking at the car in pictures, I can see a number of points that would fail an IVA straight off (SVA became IVA some time ago and became more stringent in the process).

And if it was the "last warwick" it would be registered 75 RBH wouldn't it?

Ah, but back in the 70's and in the halcyon days before SVA's, just about anything with wheels and an engine could get a reg plate. I'm pretty sure '73 was even well before the dreaded 'Q' plate.

Mike, I would if I could but the time involved to do it and with what I have here drumming its fingers waiting in the workshop/out buildings/rented lock ups I have in front of me says otherwise.......

just about anything with wheels and an engine could get a reg plate

you forget this just how Peerless got there's!

I understand, Nigel. I'm 95% retired and there still aren't enough hours in the day to do all the things I need to do never mind want to do.nonono
