Look what the Easter bunny brought

An early Easter present  and way better than a chocolate egg.

Two new alloy fuel tanks, fitted with AN6 outlets, weld on ring for VDO dip senders to the inside AND foam filled.

Don't know about the Easter bunny but I'm certainly happy.   IMG_20190321_104038.jpg   IMG_20190321_104050.jpgIMG_20190321_104056.jpg

lookin damned fine sexy there Mike, and the tanks disbelief

Dont want to burst your bubble, I'm sure I've passed comment on fuel tanks before somewhere on here. When I got a pair made they copied the originals and forgot that I asked for the fuel outlet fixing to be put on the front face of one and the rear face of the other. This sounds weird but at my old house I had a steep driveway and i could run out of fuel with the both tanks 3/4 full due to the angle of the liquid within the tank.

I managed to fit a pipe along the inside/bottom of the tank to overcome this.

Now that you mention it, I think I do recall you posting something along those lines. Hopefully it won't be a problem for me as both my driveway and workshop are nice and flat. I'll just have to remember to park nose up if I'm anywhere near a hill.

I have a guy in Germany who wants to make new tanks for his peerless but doesn't seem to have any originals to work from as a pattern and I cant find my dims I took of a standard tank.

Can anyone put their hands on a set of dims for me/him please

Well, I could send him my old tank to take measures from. As long as he remembers to make allowances for all the holes.

It sure would. You can see it in one of the pics above. I could take the measures and prepare a drawing if necessary but I'm really busy atm so it wouldn't be anytime this week. Let me know if you still need them by pm. Don't want to waste time if you've already got them.

OK, for those of you that require some dims for the tanks. This is an original tank that I have taken dims off and applied them to a photo.

Please not that the bottom face of the tank is not at 90* to the inner sill face due to the shape of the GRP sill ( I guess)
