Battery location

Our car has the battery located just right of the spare tire.

There is nothing finished looking about it's mounting arangement and I recently found a wonderful image of a young lady holding up the bootlid which shows a great view of the right half of the inside.

This is one of several images taken of a new(ish?) Peerless at a car show or perhaps at the factory in period.

No battery shows in this image.

Where should the battery be?

aaaar, only phase 1 cars had the battery in the boot/trunk. I'm pretty sure that a left hand drive car would have the battery fitted on the right hand side as over here, our right hand drive cars have it fitted on the left. All about balancing/distribution of weight.

Phase 2 cars had the battery moved up to the engine bay bulkhead and obviously the peddle box determines which side the battery would fit!

Just to add insults to injuries I have moved my battery up to the bulkhead as I didn't like the power cables running under the car.

In my Left-hand drive Phase 1 car, the battery is in the boot on the left hand side.

Well, mine must have been fairly conventional (for a Peerless Phase 1). RHD and battery in boot LH side.
