THE NEXT NEW YEAR BASH!

i thought this was a better heading as it might service more than one years interest here on the forum.

Change of venue this time avids! The Granary had served us well but now seems to be under new management (which is corporate speak for a commercial death nail in my experience) I called and also went round to see them but I still await menu and costs.....

Sooo, here's the lowdown on the new gig:

I have taken the bold step of moving to a new venue, This time we are going to the Kings Court Hotel near Alcester, Warwickshire. The date is the 26th January, yes for once we are closer to New years than we have been for....well, years! I thought it was a good idea to get it in early as I wanted to leave plenty of time for Duncan & Helen to surpass me with their Spring Bash! (gauntlet tossed)

So here's the facts ma'am, just the facts:

Saturday 26th January 2019 at Kings Court Hotel, Kings Coughton, Alcester, Warwickshire. B49 5QQ. For Reservations and bookings, please call 01789 763 111. info@kingscourthotel.co.uk

https://www.kingscourthotel.co.uk

Double room with Breakfast is £70 and £46 for single occupancy.

Three course evening meal with coffee is £22 per head. we will have our own private room for the evening and can also use one of the smaller lounge areas in the bar afterwards. I think you will agree at £112 for two that's still very good value.... I mean, what could possibly go wrong!

If you would like to come along please call or email the Hotel to book your room (and let me know too!) and make sure you tell reception that you are booking under the P&WOR as they have set rooms aside for us. IF the weather plays up again then you can cancel your booking up to 48 hours prior to the day.

As for the menu, I will be getting a copy shortly which, on request, I will send out to all concerned. You will have to make your choices and come back to me so I can send over a final list for the chef a week beforehand.

There's plenty to do in the area, there's a couple of National Trust properties close by and of course Stratford upon Avon is only 7 miles away which means you could do a quick recce on where you want to camp for the IWE too!

Okay Avids, here we go again!

I've decided to get the ball rolling on the 2022 NYB as there was some interested shown at our summer meeting at the Three Counties Showground. Of course this is all Covid permitting and for this reason we've moved into March based on the stats from this year (the figures were coming down at this stage) and "perhaps" the weather may be kinder for travelling BUT we are still five months away and even Gerry Anderson new anything can happen in the next half hour!

I've talked to Stephanie at the Kings Court Hotel and, surprisingly they are willing to have us back!

The cost for bedrooms would be £80 B&B and the evening meal in the Lantern room would be £25 per person including after dinner tea & Coffee.

When you call/email/load your pigeon please state that you're from the Peerless & Warwick club so you all go on the same list AND please let me know too!

Details are as follows:

Saturday 12th March 2022

Kings Court Hotel,

Kings Coughton,

Alcester,

Warwickshire.

B49 5QQ.

For Reservations and bookings, please call 01789 763 111. OR email: info@kingscourthotel.co.uk

And this is a link to their site.

NYB 2023

I have taken the bold step of booking The Kings Court Hotel again for our New Year Bash 2023. I didnt hear of any complaints (only from the staff about Ol Mutton Chops) and they have looked after us for the last couple of years. Weve settled on Saturday 25th March. This is also the weekend of the NEC Restoration Show so, if you wanted to get that all important, illusive bit then why not make a weekend of it.

The rate would be £95 Bed and Breakfast per room, with a £30 dinner supplement allowance. The single room price will be £85.

These costs have risen but that seems to be the case in general and I fully understand if the numbers drop, if it is substantially down from last time then I may have to cancel so please get in touch with the Hotel and also, dont forget to let me know so I have a better idea of numbers.

The Kings Court Hotel, Kings Coughton, Alcester, Warwickshire. B49 5QQ. Call reception on 01789 763 111 and please make sure you are booked under The Peerless & Warwick Owners Register. Or email them at info@kingscourthotel.co.uk

I know some of you have already booked and I thank you for letting me know

and if you haven't booked yet...why not!

Hi All,

Not long now!

I will post up soon the proposed menu options set out by the hotel for you to all choose beforehand.

Can I ask anyone who is coming for this excellent meal but not stopping overnight to please let me know, I need a headcount of all participants.

Happy New Year Avids!

Yes its that time of the year again where I start nagging about our NYB, who's likely to come and who's not (shame on you!).

NYB 2024

The Kings Court Hotel again and weve settled on Saturday 23th March. This is also the weekend of the NEC Restoration Show so, if you wanted to get that all important, illusive bit then why not make a weekend of it.

The best rate they can offer this year for Bed and Breakfast would be £92 for single occupancy, and £102 per room for 2 people sharing a double or twin. Three course evening meal is £32 per head including coffee and chocolates.

if you do not wish to stay (and save a few pennies for your restoration) You are more that welcome to come just for the meal and excellent company and as in previous years please pay for your meal at the bar or reception afterwards. For those staying over your meals and drinks WILL be charged to your room number and MUST be paid for at check-out. IF there is a discrepancy with any part of your bill please discuss with the reception staff at this point (this will save me a lot of time and embarrassment).

Their policy has now changed and they require £200 deposit for the group booking which I am prepared to do IF I get the commitment from the great unwashed.

I fully understand that the numbers may drop due to costs/travelling/can't be arsed etc, if it is substantially down from last time then I may have to cancel so please get in touch with the Hotel and also, dont forget to let me know so I have a better idea of numbers leading up to the day.

The Kings Court Hotel,

Kings Coughton,

Alcester,

Warwickshire.

B49 5QQ.

Call reception on 01789 763 111 and please make sure you are booked under The Peerless & Warwick Owners Register. Or email them at info@kingscourthotel.co.uk

well folks this thread has seen over a 120 views since I posted this years info and we only have 13 booked in for the NYB24.

I know we have 7 weeks to go but if I don't get better numbers then I will retract my deposit and if those who have already booked still want to meet up then we will have a meal in the restaurant area and eat from their usual dinner menu.
