I've also come to the conclusion that the Warwick really doesn't fit into my life any more. It's nice and loud, red and shiny, with a fresh MOT test and no advisories.
Some bits are not original, but this isn't a trailer queen. Some of the removed bits, and a hard-to-find spares package included.
Having sold a Peerless before I know how protracted and frustrating this process can be, so I'm not expecting it to be quick or easy. Serious buyers only, and it won't be cheap.
The car will be at Lincoln if anyone wants to come and talk to me, or contact me if you can't wait that long.
So far there hasn't been a huge amount of interest, so I've taken a few pics to help things along.
Like I said before, I'm not expecting this sale to be a quick or easy process, but if there is no response here then I'll put it away for the winter and it'll probably end up on ebay.
Car is in Felixstowe. Guide price? £25K but open to offers/negotiaton.
I'm looking for a Peerless or Warwick for some time. Please do me a favour and send me more information/ pictures about your car or links where I can find it.
I'm on vacation the next week and be back on 25. September, I would be happy for something to read and look at during this time .
Thank you in advance and looking forward to hear from you.
When I started to think about selling the Warwick, I posted it here, in the hope that there would be an enthusiast out there that wanted one of these cars, with the heavy groundwork done. All the basic chassis, suspension and engine work finished, a decent paint job, and with a current MOT. Just the detail work to do, to turn it into the car that they really want.
We do get postings of "where can I buy a working one" here from time to time, and this car would have fulfilled all those wishes. Sadly a buyer of this type has not appeared this summer. Given the prices of similar (working, and unrestored) cars elsewhere, I think the price was very reasonable, but it didn't sell. No problem, no hard feelings, and I'm not in a rush to reduce the price at all.
So, unless a serious buyer magically appears before the end of the month, I'm going to withdraw the car from sale and get on with the finishing touches myself over the winter. The slightly clonky diff will go off for a rebuild, I have some chroming to re-do, and I need to reinstate the broadsword, the bumpers, and finish trimming the original seats.
When the car re-emerges next year, and in plenty of time for CLM, I may try to sell it again, but into a different market, with a very different price tag.
fare play Frank, you gave it a go and as you say, you're not desperate so I would enjoy it a little more today and see what tomorrow brings
I have to say we/I do get a lot of "I want to buy one off the peg" inquiries but I guess when it comes down to hard cash it flushes out the dreamers................
reading the conversations carefully, it seems for me, that you feel quite unhappy, the way, they happened. Please be so kind, and let's have a trial. I am a serious car collector from Vienna, Austria, specialized in British Specialists Cars. Awaiting your reply, Best regards, Alexander
