Front lower inner suspension bushes.

As the title suggests, can anyone advise on the correct part number or, better still, the correct polybush?

I got a full set of 16 (8 sets of 2) polybushes from Rimmers and whilst the top bushes fit the upper fulcrum pin with no problem, the same bushes will not fit the lower fulcrums. The diameter of the lower fulcrum is about 21mm, way more than the top fulcrum so obviously the same bush won't fit.

I know there were a number of changes on the TR suspension over time but they all relate to different TR chassis numbers so it's impossible to link them to Peerless production unless someone knows better.

Any advice or pointers would be greatly appreciated as this problem is now holding up progress.

There is a metal sleeve, part #110695, that rust to the pin and is hard to get off. Clean the end up and you might can see the joint. With that off it will be the correct size.

Hi Dean.

Yes, I discovered that yesterday after trawling through the Moss catalogue to see if I could identify the problem. I feel like a complete idiot! The only thing I can say in my defence is the I strpped the car aroud 12-15 years ago. Since then, the chassis has been repaired, resprayed with two coats of red oxide primer and several coats of chassis black so the chance of my feeble eyes identifying the problem bushes was remote. Nevertheless, I still feel VERY stupid.

I shall wear my dunces cap for the remainder of the restoration.

Thanks, Nigel.

My humiliation is now complete.

The annoying thing is I'm still trying to get two of the bl**dy things off!!

What I heard about boats is that you're only happy twice.

The day you buy it and the day you sell it.
