RE: Peerless #37

Hi Bruce,

Take a look at the front wheel arch modifications on my car further down this post, they might help and hopefully others will be along shortly!

HI

Sorry - I have now moved to the rear wheels. I have to fabricate an inner arch for the rear wheel. The back section has been done - but not the front or top of the rear wheel.

I'm at a bit of a loss as to how this is constructed - I just have a big empty space.

Pictures are in earlier post.

Is the intention to get a complete arch from front to back? To what does the arch attach to on the inside?

Any pictures or descriptions would be great.

Thanks

Hello Bruce,

some pics for you, hope they make sense.

The arched section closing off the boot (trunk) can be permanently bonded, but the sill ends must be removable to access the filler necks and fuel lines. I have made frames for these areas to create strength, with a closing panel secured using multiple self-tapping screws and non-setting butyl sealing strip.

Easiest method for the curves is to use a 150mm wide strip of metal to achieve the curvature. Transfer that to some plastic backed board held firm and make up curved sheets of GRP you can cut to shape from cardboard (cereal box) templates.

Hope that makes sense.

All the best,

Gary
