I have settled on the 5th March for the NYB this year. The Granary have once again come up with another excellent deal of Evening Meal in the Restaurant, after dinner drinks in the Cottage room upstairs, Double room and full English breakfast
for £99.00 based on two sharing. If you would like to come and join us your more than welcome but make sure you see me before you get a round in. Contact details are:
The Granary Hotel & Restaurant Heath Lane, Shenstone, Kidderminster, Worcester DY10 4BS Telephone: 01562 777535.
If your booking a room make sure you tell them you're a member of the P&WOR and let me know so I have an idea of numbers for the restaurant manager to set out the tables etc (as we have some members that just come for the meal).
As an added attraction this is the same weekend as the Restoration and Classic Car Show at the NEC, Birmingham. so do the show on your way over on the Saturday or on Sunday get an early breakfast in
as the Granary is only 28 miles away from the NEC.
Il be coming over for new year bash and more than likely stop over.Who I come with and how I get there I don't no yet, but I will get your first beer Nigel and more than likely your last ..cheers
I hope you don't mind a guy from California joining the party? I am planning to be in the UK for business and am looking forward to a day or two of NEC shopping and an evening of Peerlessness.
Dean
Peerless #213 (...and yes Nigel I am working on it)
My son converted 17 minutes of Warwick race footage from Colin Ham to digital. There are clips from Mallory Park, Snetterton, Rufforth and Branch Hatch. Colin has helped me identify the cars, drivers and locations.
Warwick V8 1688MC (Snetterton - Driven by R. Ham)
Warwick TR 75RBH (Snetterton - driven by Bernie Rogers)
Warwick TR (Snetterton - tunex car driven by Simon Hill)
Tunex engined Warwick 697UPA (Dual SUs as raced at Rufforth then wrecked on a country road on the way home. Simon Hill R. Ham and Bernie Rogers examine the wreckage)
Tunex engine now in new Warwick (at Brands hatch now with Twin Choke SUs)
Brian Shires Warwick? (track side at Rufforth)
There are shots of the factory and factory workers.
PM me with where you are staying and are you intending to do the auto jumble and show at the NEC? I will be taking pops up there on the Sunday (as I have a stand to rip out in the evening!)
Dave, let me know when your over, Your Beer is cluttering up the Present Mrs Cluley's fridge..................
Thank you Nigel and everyone for putting up with my American ways. I am thrilled to have received the most coveted knock off award, which is now proudly displayed in the "Peerless and Warwick Room", or as Donna calls it, the "Don't Bring your Car Stuff Upstairs Room".
Just for the record, the airport security screeners weren't quite as happy as I was to take it home...
aaaar but they didn't find what's cast inside it did they!..... you know when you want to test how speed cameras pick up certain shapes/materials and so you strap the test piece to the back of your mates
car and go out for a quick blast and then have the agonizing wait of two weeks to see if he starts ranting that he's got a fine when he "wasn't even out that night".......well, I've up'd my game......

Good to meet you, Dean, and share a night cap back at the hotel. And well done on being Nigel's mule. The less you know, the better. In fact, the less he knows, the better for all of us!
I look forward to your updates.
All the best,
Gary
