92mm pistons and liners?

Hello,

Now that my engine is completely stripped, decisions as to the most suitable spec for rebuilding it arise.

I know many of you have been there, done that and are still paying off your credit cards without the missus' knowledge, so I'd appreciate your experience and suggestions.

Engine has 86mm pistons, crank reground by 30 thou already for mains and big ends. Still need to measure up to see if they need to go to 40thou. Scroll type oil seal (bye bye) Wide belt pulley (bye bye).

The bores were more worn than Nigel's stash of 'anatomical' magazines, so new liners for sure.

Was thinking 89mm but what about 92mm pistons/liners? Good, bad, silly? Looking for reliability and torque more than increased top speed.

All the best,

Gary
