Cair-O-Port

Hi

I am thinking of getting a Cair-O-Port or similar for the Warwick.  Does anyone have a warwick/peerless in one?  It looks like Gary keeps his peerless in one in some pictures?

I am trying to work out if the Warwick will fit is a small size Cair-o-Port as my garage is quite tight, or go for an Air flow Airchamber.

Cheers

Joe

Thanks Nigel, yes, I am having a bit of a change of heart, I have been driving the car a lot recently - I had forgotten how large a grin it puts on my face!

I'm going to measure up tomorrow to see if it will fit the garage, if the car is staying it may as well be stored well while there grit on the roads.

Keep it if you possibly can.

A while ago, when things were difficult, and for a series of reasons
I was persuaded to part with my Peerless.  I didn't really sell it, I
was stupid enough to let it go.

I have regretted that decision ever since.

Sure, I have a Warwick, and it'll get sorted one day, but finding time is tough.

Hello Joe,

Don't sell!

Can thoroughly recommend the Carcoon Veloce.

Been using it for a couple of years now in our very dusty (therefore abrasive) workshop.

Twin full side openings. Internal frame so it doesn't collapse onto the car when a door is opened (like the old air bubble types)

Excellent filtration system, too.

All the best,

Gary

Good man Joe,

if it's the one we tested two or so years ago, you won't be disappointed. Pics attached.

So your Warwick's a keeper again?

Yes, thats the one.  I dont think it is quite as big as that one - the garage I keep the Warwick in is quite small so I have got the TR3 sized tent - it also had a 10% discount at the TR register shop which helps.

Here she is, snug in her new winter bed!

I went for the small size, it is only just big enough, but should keep her nicely.

looks snug. dont know what the material is on the bottom but if you have grit on the tyres wouldnt it puncture it? I would be tempted to put something on the floor to drive it on?

thin vinyl flooring strips?

I did have some vinyl flooring left over from a job and thought I'd stand mine on it in the workshop but then when when the car is out and I'm "creating dust" I found the flooring was very slippy...so chucked it out

and now it just sits on x exhibition carpet with a strip of cardboard up the centre to catch the oil!

Hi Nigel

My wife already thinks I'm a bit odd for parking my car in a tent in the garage, if I put down a carpet she will think I've completely lost it! Having said that we are about to replace the lounge carpet......

I can't remember what the floor is made of, it struck me as being faily thick but your idea is probably sensible, I will have a look at it.

As far as you know, is the grille on your car the original fitting?

My Warwick (WGT - 00015) has the same plate, identical to a PH2 Peerless
rather than the Triumph herald derived assembly shown in the literature.

Hi. Yes, as far as I know it is the original. The picture I have of the car in 63 has this grill.

Here is a rather dissintergrated press photo from 61 showing the type of grill I have.

I've just looked more closely - It is a Peerless Phase 2.

Thanks Joe.

Yes, the grill is identical to a Phase 2.  It's the pattern that's
fitted to my Warwick, and there are no screw holes, or signs of
old holes in the GRP to mount anything else.

I suspect that Bernard Rogers Developments fitted what
they had, rather than sticking to a particular design.

It's still nice to get some confirmation that it's original.

Very glad to see that you are keeping yours.

Merry Xmas

Frank
