What is the consensus opinion for the best path the loom should take when reaching the back of a Phase 1? I ask because I never removed the loom, it came ready-removed from the car. Do I head off down the sills, or go straight down the middle? Presumably, it's best to keep the wiring out of the line of fire from road debris and damage by running it through the sills and under the back seat to the back of the boot?
You suggestions gratefully received, in case I've got it wrong.
Wiring goes down the LH sill to the tank sensor and back as far as the fuel pumps RH sill, tank sensor and through a grommet into into the boot behind the filler cap All rear lights go down the RHS.
If you clamber into the boot, or look up into the rear wheel well, you should find a grommet hole at the top of the rear face of the Right Hand wheel well. This is where the harness heads into the boot. There shouldn't be one on the Left Hand side.
That's Right hand as in drivers side.
When I stripped my wiring out (both Peerless and Warwick as it happens), the earth for all the rear lights was terminated at the right hand tank sensor. Interesting place to have a harness burn out.
