Update on the racing---- finished well down at Lydden---Frank was there to support us, Ian driving ( he tried very hard to modify the bodywork at paddock but after a superhuman effort got it back and continued in one piece ! ) Next 2 fixtures Donington on Monday 29th Aug., Snetterton on 10th or 11th Sept. Will confirm which day A.S.A.P. Probably Celia driving as nutty Ian will be racing his Yankee Dodge Dart ( V8 ) in the same race as the Peerless, and although he is very good even he can't drive both cars in the same race ! See you there .
Would love to be doing something at Silverstone this year, but haven't found anything to do ! What sort of tickets have you got ? We are also racing the Peerless at Mallory with Top Hat ( the people who organise Goodwood Revival ) in a 40 minute 2 rdiver race on Oct. 2nd. Should be good as for the first time this season we will be racing against cars of the 50s, not a mixture up to the 70s!
Update, Unforunately after a super qualifying session in the Peerless at Donnington Bank Hol Mon, where I really felt the car was suited to the track, even overtaking more modern minis and giving me a real "feel", the Aliminium petrol tank we have had to put in the boot for racing decided to split down a seam, so that was me out for the race. Thank goodness it is easily rectified before Snetterton, which should also suit,-----watch this space. The interest in the car wherever it races is phenomonel (spelt right ?) With people photograhing it, scrutineers ogling over it and even marshals taking time to come and see it and wave cheerfully after the sessions. Can only do the Marque good. Celia.
At least they've got a female to look at, not many of them to the pound, and so good looking in my overalls. as for Ian in his-say no more ? Camper van here we come ?
earlier this year I read that you might come to Spa-Francorchamps on 24th/25th of September - are you still planning to do so? This would be interesting to know, and Spa is a fantastic racing circuit. I can bring my Peerless as well - as a spectator's car, of course!
Unfortunately the race was over subscribed so we won't be going to Spa this year. However next year we hope to campaign the car in Europe, as we still hope to race at the Classic Le Mans as well, so will need to race on the continent before. Will keep you updated, and thank-you for your support.
thank you very much for letting me know - it would have been a great occasion to meet, but I just look forward to do this at some other motor sport event. Wishing much and continuous succes with your great Peerless motor sport activity - this really deserves support.
Thank-you for you nice reply, we are racing at Mallory park on October 2nd, where we are being scrutineered for F.I.A. papers to enable us to race in Europe next year. we have got our entry forms for the 2006 Classic Le Mans, so hopefully all will be well. we will keep the Forum informed !
