Peerless SU fuel pumps

Can anyone tell me which SU fuel pump I need to order and where in the UK I can get it? The car is a 1958 GT2.

Hi,
pumps.... well I just used...dont cast me out here....MGB typeweirdface.gif SU pumps picked up at a show. I disided that they should be able to cope with the flow and they have never run out of puff as it were.biggrin.gif

May I respectfully suggest that SU Pump part no 015.077 from www.holden.co.uk
is probably the pukka item, and will fit the original pipework and bolt holes.

But as Nigel says, MGB ones work fine, and are cheaper/easier to find at autojumbles.
With a Peerless nobody else will know what you fitted, or pick any nits.

It's worth getting the "electronic" version, the HP (push) pumps have a stronger
return spring, so draw more current, and the points have a harder time.

Thanks Frank and Nigel. Got the correct pump from Burlen. Its a pointless poitive earth type and bolted straight on. Sadlly £90 inc delivery and VAT. I ve done 2000 miles since I bought the car and this has been the only problem. Tyres are next. Its on SP Sports (165) in good condition but age unknown. I want to retain the 4.5 rims. Any ideas? Thanks again for your help. Regards Richard

Nigel,

Sorry cant do Le Mans but fully intend to next year. Did 160 miles in just under 3 hours on Saturday. Car going like a dream. What a lovely bit of kit and in my view more thoughtfully designed than my E Type. The ride quality is almost as good with half the complications.

What is the correct name and number of the fuel pumps used on the Peerless GT and is there a re-build kit available?
