Door lock cylinder and cam
(Preview)
Does anyone recognise either of these fitments? As fitted to the Standard Vanguard. I understand (please correct me if necessary) that the barrel is a Wilmot Breeden 'Union' FS type. Standard 8 and 10 Spares, who supplied the new door handles, don't have either, so the hunt is on to track down more. W...

Half Shafts - Hardi Spicer
(Preview)
It was time to replace the sliding clunking half shafts in the Warwick, so looking through one of the original documents that came with the car, the technical spec states that Warwick used Hardi-Spicer components. In the US, I was able to order the parts from Drivetrain America for next day shipping...

Bonnet latches
(Preview)
Is #145 odd again or does anyone else have a plunger and spring type bonnet latch? Mine looks like a TR4's. It is mounted on the heater box. I'm thinking of adding the latches in the corners that are on other Peerless' as there is no secondary latch as on the TRs. John

"Barnfinder, The last Peerless"
(Preview)
I have just received #182, the car featured in Barnfinder last December. It was put away in 1972 with the engine in pieces and is missing the boot badge, 2 lower tail light lenses, and most of the carpeting. The windshield is cracked so I will need one. Seats and headliner are very nice but quite dirty. Th...

New Peerless Bonnet and Boot Badges
(

)
(Preview)
Hello everyone, I've been chipping away at this one for a few years now and have just received a call to say the first badge sample was posted to me today. It's based on one of my old badges, so fingers crossed. I have no idea of its quality but it's a step in the process to making them available again. Will up...

Carb Jet Arm clearance
(Preview)
I've just rebuilt the carbs on #118, and what a positive difference. In addition to the master rebuild kit. I got two new jet arms planning on replacing both. However with the new arm fitted to the rear carb, there is simply no way that the carbs will fit nor will the jet arm function to lower the jet. T...

Fuel Sender
(Preview)
Is the regular TR3 sender a direct replacement for the Peerless tank? I'm guessing it's maybe just a differently bet arm, but thought i'd check before ordering a replacement. The existing one is kaput dave

Rear Suspension
(Preview)
My shock bracket is broken on the LH side. After looking at it and contemplating going with a Watts linkage and a coil over set up I have come to the conclusion that if I retain just the main leaf on the leaf springs and the one next to it the axle should be adequatly located side to side with some spring also...

Self-cancelling original indicators

The things you learn #763 In the process of rewiring my steering wheel control head unit (indicator/horn assembly) I managed to fix the self-cancelling function too. Anyone else not know the indicators should self-cancel? All the best, Gary

bonnet hinges Phase I and headlamp rims
(Preview)
Hi anyone out there who can tell me where the bonnet hinges on my phase I Peerless GT from 1958 would have come from? Mine are both crap In addition, I'm looking for a set of headlamp rims - they went missing on my car and it looks somewhat sorry without them.

Doors
(Preview)
I am at the point of trying to understand door adjustment on the Peerless. Not so easy to see what is going on down along side of engine bay. It looks like there is what should be a separate metal plate and the hinge arms are part of this. This is compressed to another metal plate by ten bolts and that other...

I see all 4 U joints need replacing and also the pinion to CR has lots of play. I can rebuild the Diff myself if I know if the TR4 parts will fit. I nasty job bu...

92mm pistons and liners?

Hello, Now that my engine is completely stripped, decisions as to the most suitable spec for rebuilding it arise. I know many of you have been there, done that and are still paying off your credit cards without the missus' knowledge, so I'd appreciate your experience and suggestions. Engine has 86mm...

Diff cover vent?
(Preview)
Have the Diff out of #220 to replace the seals. There is a crude vent tube brazed on to the diff cover. Is this stock or a modification? It does not look to be very effective. The tube is broken and I'm thinking of just replacing it with a plate. Your thoughts?

Chassis No.

According to the "Instruction Book" the chassis number can also be "found on chassis down tube." Ok, where is the "down tube" and where on it is the chassis number? No. 145 came without a VIN plate and it would be nice to be able to confirm the no. on the title. Thanks.

Boot /Trunk Lock
(Preview)
The lock on the 1958 Peerless GT that we are working on is missing and there is only a hole where it should be. Was it a TR3 boot handle, a TR3 glove box door lock (or should that be a Cubby door)? or something completely different? Ron
