Diff carrier frame
(Preview)
I think I tried this before but met with no sucess so I'll give it a go again. Basically, I need to re-manufacture the diff carrier frame as mine was lost some time ago. I'm referring to the triangular frame that sits below the diff and connects to the chassis at 3 points. I did have a technical drawing with...

Door glass runners update
(Preview)
I've been reliably informed by a reader about the origins of the PW door glass runners. Having made a pair from scratch as featured in the mag recently, he got in touch with the info. Furthermore, the specialist involved should have a stall at Beaulieu Autojumble this weekend. Fingers crossed I can c...

Windscreen seals and trims
(Preview)
Hi Folks, Looking for help - can anyone tell me the part numbers to order windscreen seal and the matching silver filler strip from Woolies? Our seals seem OK, but the trim strips have gone black, so I want to replace those and may get some seal material at the same time, just in case... Thank you! Nick

Reverse Lamp
(Preview)
I am starting to hook up gauges and do final wiring on #216. I don't seem able to find a reverse lamp in loom. I assume one just wires separately back to it? -- Edited by Steve on Thursday 10th of July 2014 03:27:56 AM

Radiator
(Preview)
How is the radiator held in its brackets? I have the two dogleg sheet metal pieces attached to the car and the radiator, but I don't know what actually holds them together. The radiator doesn't have any brackets attached to it. Rich #182

Front spot and fog lamps
(Preview)
I'm trying to determine the correct front auxiliary lamps as fitted to the Le Mans car. Lucas base mounted on a bracket, judging from the pics I have seen of Ken's car. Can anyone shed some light (sorry) on which lamps? Mine had inset lamps inside the radiator intake when is was photographed for the Hay...

Inner rear arch panels
(Preview)
I'm cracking on with repairs to all four inner rear arch panels. Question: How should (best way, rather than original!) the rear inner arch panels be secured to the inner wing? Bonded in? Screwed onto brackets and then sealed? Solutions most appreciated. All the best, Gary

Rear ride height
(Preview)
The back of #118 rides very low indeed, and while I know that they're all low, it's increasingly noticable. It's definately dropped a little as the tailpipe scrapes slightly leaving the garage recently. The leaf springs look pretty flat and i suspect i will need to replace/refurbish them. Ground...

Does anyone know where I could find a Peerless badge bar (fits into the bonnet air intake with a ringed "p") or know of anyone reproducing them? Thanks, Jeff. GT2/ 00063.

Package Shelf material?
(Preview)
We're starting the interior restoration of #00123 to be close to original and need information on what material to use on the package shelf behind the rear seats. The upholstery shop wants to use the black material also used over the dashboard, I seem to remember it was the same grey vinyl used on othe...

Boot/trunk lid
(Preview)
The boot lid on #118 has become loose where the hinge arm meets the lid itself, as in the picture. I've tried tightening in the screws, but without success. It moves enough to give me concern that the lid might pop open going over a small bump. Does anyone know what lurks within the fiberglass? I was...

Information resources

I am jumping the gun just a bit, and getting ahead of Art, but I just can't stand it!!! I think Art mentioned that we are going to start on #92 at the brakes, work our way to the engine, and then start on the body. I have always believed that fixing "whoa" before "GO!" is best. At any rat...

Cylinder head cracks
(Preview)
I recently collected my engine block and cylinder head from the company who made a superb job of cleaning them using their rust and grease busting dipping process. Typically for a TR engine, there are issues to address. It would seem exhaust valve seats have been fitted but there are visible cracks on...

New Lucas L548 lamp bases
(Preview)
I discovered just how poor my rear lamp bases were having removed them to fit the new rubber backing seals I posted about recently. I asked those decent people at Holden Classic and Vintage if they'd oblige by selling me just the bases. They agreed and are now happy to supply to us bases only if required....

Anyone have a picture of original muffler set up and/or specs and/or where to purchase one? I assume it is oval and short enough to fit part way up between spare and right side wheel well?

James Whitson Body tag

(Preview)
There is a James Whitson & Co. body tag shown on the site advertising #166. I haven't seen this tag before. Of course I don't have one. Is this a common tag for Phase 1 cars? http://kpgarage.com/pastinventorydetail.php?id=23 It looks to be located on the hinge plate yet I can't tell for sure....

Number plate/reverse lamp aperture. Is this correct?
(Preview)
Attached is a photo from the inside of my PH1 bootlid showing the slot cut for the standard reverse/reg plate light. It seems way too big and certainly needs a rubber gasket. Is the slot too big or should there be a backing piece for the Lucas L469 lamp? Help appreciated. All the best, Gary
