Opinions sought, please

So, whilst waiting for my sparky to get back to me, I've been pressing on with a fair number of small jobs on #86. Having exhausted these, I've decided to bite the bullet and get on with the doors. I knew the nearside door was going to be problematic for two reasons. Firstly, I knew there was a twist in it pos...

Lights Update to my Warwick.
(Preview)
Updating my lights and sealed beam headlights to LED. The back lights come out as expected, almost twice as bright all round, however the front is much more exiting. One side done, the other side for comparison. Sidelights..... Headlights.. And amber indicators.. I've used Daylight running li...

Body fitting question
(Preview)
As I'm getting close to fitting the new body to #86, I thought I'd take a few measures to see how everything lines up. Somewhat worryingly I've come across something I can't quite get my head around. By way of an excuse, I should point out that my original body had front end damage and the nose of the car was...

I have no idea why there is a small metal triangle screwed onto the D shaped door hinge panel near the top. Same both sides. What's its purpose??

F@*^ing doors!
(Preview)
Just started stripping down the passenger door. Blimey! They're a restoration project in their own right. And what size are all the small nuts that hold everything together?? Not standard imperial for sure. Closest I could get was 9mm and that was a bit loose. Having said that, most of them needed gro...

All relay'd up
(Preview)
Another small update. New wiring progressing with a new fuse box and more relays than you can shake a stick at. Hopefully that will cover everything. Also stolen Nigels idea of multi pluging all the dashboard connections to make it easier to remove the instrument pod in the future.

Body back on questions.
(

(Preview)
The questions continue. Given that the original body came off the chassis in a number of pieces, can anyone advise on the best way of getting my new body onto the now running chassis? Am I best to fit the body first and then all the internal panels (flitch panels, dashboard, inner rear passenger compart...

Clutch slave cylinder mounting
(Preview)
Back in my 'one step forward' thread, I mentioned my problem getting the clutch to operate properly. Having stripped everything down today and ensured the pushrod was fully home in the cylinder, I was still getting way too much play between the piston in the slave being fully retracted and the point w...

One step forward, a couple back
(Preview)
Happily, my recent purchase of an alloy water pump housing has cured the annoying coolant leak at the rear of the housing. Still no idea why the old cast iron persisted in leaking after 3 attempts to get it to seal but, hey ho, sorted now. On the irritating front, there is still a slow drip from the s/s pipe...

More progress
(Preview)
Thought the assembled masses might like to see my new floorpans. A bit of fettling and a couple of holes for the seat frames and they should be ready for spot welding in place. Please excuse the messy workshop. I promise I'll tidy up soon.

Progress update and yet more questions
(Preview)
Well, after faffing around for ages changing the engine front plate from the TR4 one to the TR3 one, cutting and drilling new mounting plates, welding them in upside down, grinding them off, cutting and drilling 2 more new mounting plates, welding them in the right way round, the engine and box are now...

Peerless GT V6
(Preview)
After a lot of measuring and research i'm now sharing my V6 project. Long time ago i got this idea, and i started to investigate if this was feasible. My main goal is that i don't have to change the chassis, and that it is reversible. Due to its compact dimensions the choice fell on the Ford 2.4 EFI V6, cou...

Pleasant surprise
(Preview)
As may have been observed from another of my recent posts, I had to change the engine front plate on my re-built engine from the TR4 one to the TR3 one to get the engine sitting at the correct height in the chassis. In doing so, look what I found. I was well pleased.

Peerless GT Phase 1 #013
(Preview)
Hi everybody, Some of you know I own this car for many years, bought back in 1998. Bought as a partially dismantled wreck, basically not worth saving, but complete with glass, P-grille etc. As these are very rare, I couldn't find another one so it became mine. I've built a new chassis to start with, i...

Stator tube length

Having had to buy a new (second hand) stator tube can anyone tell me how far it should extend, if by anything, beyond the end of the nut that holds it in place on the lower end of the steering box. At present and with the steering wheel as far down the splines on the top of the column as it can go, the stator tube...

Non-standard radiator failure.
(Preview)
Sorry guys, missed the TR show. The radiator gave up 70 miles into the trip, and stranded me at Cambridge Services. It's a mercy that it didn't fail in the roadworks. For the first time in my Peerless/Warwick ownership Ive needed a two truck. However, the ali/plastic land rover rad is rubber mounted...
