I've collected 60 spun solid brass rims from the spinners and they're now at the metal former's who are going to work the peak into the top of the rim.
They will then be drilled top and bottom( for fixing to the car) and then off to the chroming guys.
Please get in touch if you're still interested as I know this has taken a long time to get here!
OK....FINALLY I have a couple of pairs finished from the first batch.
I have had a real fight on my hands with "so called" professionals who say they can do a job and then just hand back a load of rubbish and shrug their collective shoulders.
I have since found a great guy who can actually do what he says he can do, and subsequently is very busy! but I have some finished and more in the pipeline so don'
I'm going to put this out there and say who ever was on the original head count/list for these and is really desperate to get a pair fitted for final prep of their car before it goes to paint?
Let me know.
The Brass rim below was for fitting/sign off and the three finished ones are the original one at the top and the two new ones beneath.
Well, I still definitely want a pair and I know my name was on the list early but I'm happy to let someone else who's closer to completion than I am to get some of the first batch as long as you reserve a pair for me, Nigel.
Hi Nigel
Great to see the finished article, look fantastic & would appreciate a set when available
Don't want to see the car coming on its maiden drive not fully dressed.
I do crave the finished look that the real headlight rims will provide and since I saw what was left of the headlight surrounds after I ran into the back of a 1952 Pontiac back in the day I really would like to receive 1 and 1/2 pairs (giving me a spare should I be careless again). Let me know how I can pay including shipping to Texas.
I am amazed and deeply grateful that I'm not the only one who still admires this poor man's Ferrari.
If anyone out there is waiting on or wanting some of the new headlight rims, let me tell you, you're in for a VERY pleasant surprise.
Just got mine from Nigel yesterday and all I can say is that they look and feel fantastic. Nigel, if you had a Feefo page, I'd give you 5 stars.
Seriously, guys, Nigel deserves a huge amount of praise for developing this project and bringing it through to conclusion and providing such a great addition to the Peerless spares situation.
I just hope that all those that expressed an interest take him up on the chance and he isn't left with a ton of spares and out of pocket. I know how these situations can sometimes backfire on those who make the effort to produce a limited run on the promise of so many future sales that then don't appear.
looking at what I have here and some of the returns I have to send back as not happy I dont have a spare at the moment Mike. I will see how the next batch work out in the future and bare you in mind.
