2018 Le Mans/Classic Le Mans

I know, I know, 2018 right, a loooong way off but befoe you know it............

This is shout out that has already gone to print in the TRaction Magazine and now I'm putting out on here.

I fully understand that for most people outside the UK this is but a mere pipe dream to attend but if you can you would be more than welcome....so long as someone is organizing it all that is!

Read on:

future P&W events.

How does he keep coming up with these headings I hear you ask. Well, this one has been rumbling away at the back of my mind for a good few months and I think it's time I just got it out there. In two years time it will be our 60th anniversary of the Peerless racing at Le Mans and I think we should celebrate this as we have in the past. Back in 2008 we went to the 24 hour race and I also attended the Classic as well. This was the start of a three year celebratory run for me organizing the main events in our cars history from first production phase 1, into Phase 2 and then, finally Warwick's. However, this time round I would like volunteers to take on this roll as, quite frankly I'm fed up of doing it all. Ideally I would like to see two P&W individuals offer to take on the complete organisation of "Our Le Mans Trip" be it the 24 hour or the classic. The classic has more appreciative public attendees and there's lots to see and do but The 24 hour is where it all started so this is the fundamental starting block.  It has been suggested that perhaps we should find accommodation, be it gite(s), hotels or B+B as camping is not so attractive these days to some of our members. Don't forget avids, we're ten years older this time round! (so that makes me 12) Dates/traveling times/Ferries or tunnel you all need to decide and someone needs to correlate all this information along with ballpark figures and put something together....and it aint gonna be me!

So, have a think about how you could help and let me know.

I'm in, and Celia will help me (please.)

To clarify, I think I now own a Peerless, I think it is supposed to be a race car, in which case I think it is supposed to be on my 3 car transporter at Classic Le Mans, in which case I might as well get the job sorted properly while poor old Nige. has a rest.

With any luck 2018 CLM won't clash with the 60th Anniversary launch of Triumph Italia at Valentino Park in Turin where me and all my Italia mates will be taking over the place to celebrate the renaissance of Turin Motor Show after a few years in the wilderness.

Or with the 2018 Mille Miglia where I think my Doretti race car is supposed to be putting in an appearance with said transporter and a couple of eligible TR's.

And I suppose it would be too much to hope we can squeeze in 2018 real proper job original Le Mans and show them how it was supposed to be done all along.

Which is all a bit silly really considering I have never had time to attend any of those places before and I've probably completely underestimated how hard all this might turn out to be.
So if any of the wise old sages who know it can't be done would like to ring me and put me off so we can have a chat I am always ready to take anybody's phone call.

Cheers,
