Hi my name is Jim Bolinger and I'm live in Canton, OH. I'm addicted to low production fiberglass British cars. I'm currently looking at a Warwick that has no VIN number and I'm trying to indentify the car. After reading post on this forum I now know where to look for a chassis number but I am also looking for other ways I might narrow down the time of manufacture. One thing I've noticed in reviewing pictures of various Warwick GT's is that they moved the gas filler location at some point front below the side rear windows to a single point on the right side just below the rear window. Does anyone know when this occurred?
Also are there any other changes that anyone knows of that might help me place the car in the manufacturing time frame?
Unclip the headlining (it's retained by the door seal rubber) and have a look at the underside of the roof panel, between the front seats. The body number could be written here, possibly when it was still upside down in the moulding jig. Not definitive proof, but if the body plate is missing, it will be somewhere to start. You don't have to destroy the headlining, it should clip back in again afterwards. Warwick's were made with left and right fillers and side tanks. If you have a rear filler it's a mod.
