Celia and Ian are racing their Warwick GT this weekend at Goodwood Revival.
They are on the Fordwater Trophy Grid at 10am Sunday UK BST. I've just watched the qualifying session streamed live from the Goodwood website. They may archive it?
Well done, Ian. Worth getting up at 2am to watch. But blimey the Warwick looks like a handful with all that grunt. Nice shout for Peerless from the commentators too
Dave
I am glad I wasn't the only one to wake up at 2:00am.
Donna thought I was crazy, yet she watched Ian wiggle the GT 350 around the circuit as I was setting the TV up so we would watch in style. There are a lot of coverege on the Warwick. It was on the screen almost continuiously for the first half of the race. Very cool.
Hi all yes Ian did do really well in the Fordwater, and yes the Warwick does squirm and slide all over the place, that's the nature of the beast! He just keeps his foot down and lets it sort itself out!
Well done for you guys staying up to watch the race. You can watch it again on You tube (all three days) if you don't live in the U.K. we can't probably because it will be shown on terrestrial TV later in the year!
One of the people who came to see us was the son of the original owner who bought it from new. He was amazed to see it there. Another was Geert from Belgium who has the other racing GT350 and along with five other mad Belgians was cheering Ian on at Madgewick! Nice guy.
All in all a fantastic event and so pleased the Warwick was there and finished the race!
brilliant gig guys, you've really got to come over and do it! One of the best race meetings I've been to because there's so much going on not just for the petrol heads either, planes, bikes, and stunning girls!
Warwick went really well and as usual surprised a few people.
Thanks Celia & Ian for a great time, next year? I hope so, you put so much work into the car and all the little extras around the pits. period tools and even that bloody old jack (I had to carry it to and from the pit wall...twice!)
That's what I would expect from you Nige! Seriously, thanks for the comments but I don't think the Warwick is eligible next year, the Fordwater changes every year for different cars.
Jon I'm off to Angouleme today but will send you pictures and words when we get back. Hope that's O.K.
Also I just want to say a very BIG thank-you for Nigels' help with the exhaust gaskets and gearbox, and for lugging 'that' jack back and forward from the pits! Also for the loan of his Peerless so as we could swan about in it as ours is still not on the road. I know how hard he worked to get the car done in time for Goodwood, brilliant. Must also mention our strategist, Frank who really looked the part and Jean who was actually on the pit wall in period.
I also agree with Nigel, you guys across the pond would love it. A must for the future I hope!
Very jealous about the level of your participation. I've been before and I know Dean's been (last year as well in fact). I agree Celia - highly, highly recommended. Hard to pick a favourite (note correct spelling) moment as there are so many great ones from Goodwood
Well done Ian and Celia (and Jack Lad cancel the gym membership)
