Paypal sent, sorry its late, kindly paid by my grandson whose email address is, joshwarriner113@gmail.com (as I don't have a paypal acc) look forward to receiving tag,
Firstly......not only have you, yet again, produced some serious sterling work, but all for the greater good!
secondly....I have never even thought about these tags. My car never had one when I got it (including the two I owned before...and the three I have now!) and never thought that I should try to obtain one...
thirdly....please sir, can I have one!
fourthly (is that a word?) thank you so much for thinking of raising revenue for the site. Jon built this site all on his own (something I could not even contemplate) and, during house/job/life moves has tried to keep it up to date-ish. He has
been in touch lately (and made the International this year) saying that he will find time to carry on this work and has also taken on board scanning the start of our archive. The running of this site and most other things was covered by Jon, and now me.
I have to say (and Jon will agree) it can be a lonely job sometimes trying to keep this stuff going and when someone just jumps in and runs with an idea, its really heart warming.....sorry guys, I'm welling up here
seriously, I appreciate the individual support and to see a community developing on here is really fantastic. just think what it was like 27 years ago when I bought my first Peerless. I was lucky to have the P&W registrar living 15 miles away
for help (although, by then, he didn't even own a car!) three home phone numbers for people I had never met before (all around the country) and a handful of photocopied articles. Look at me now ma, top of the world, ma, top of the world!
Dean, we need to talk about what we can do with "your" revenue. how you think we can develop what we have on-line and perhaps what you would like to develop over there (my little west-coast co-ordinator)
I took Pops (Mr Cluley senior) our good friend, Will (who help build our award winning exhibition stand) to the Birmingham Classic Car Show today. had a chat with Gary (another serious helper for the greater good) and the automotive glass manufacturer and we are this close to a deal on the costs for the screens.
So, to recap on our little club here. we have the following to offer:
new chassis'
new bodies
new glass (and heated!)
wiring looms
roll cages
rear acrylic screens for racing
side acrylic windows with vents
hand Brake cables
speedo cables
up rated ali front hubs
steering rack conversions
original steering box refurbishment
differential rebuilding
teflon coated half shaft supply
door handles
in development we have:
our own personnel archive
head lamp rims (phase 1)
badges
Up rated De Dion Tubes
Steering wheels
Steering wheel boss'
2" clocks (along with TR members)
Alfin drums
and all this along with individual members with ideas and tips on how to modify/develop/repair pretty much everything else. AND the TR Register willing to support us (through the New Spares Fund) hats of guys, we all done good!
so with tear ducts seriously flushed my friends, I will sign off

PS: Just so you know, it was easier making the tags then decoding our online user identities, real names, paypal account info, addresses and payment aliases.... So, if you think you sent me money or expressed interest and are not on the list to get a tag, please don't be shy and let me know. I probably screwed up.
Dean,
Now you know why I left engineering to work on 18th century clocks. Brass is such a nice medium.
Nigel - I am speechless. Thank you for all the kind words. I am glad to be of help. But, unfortunately, I do have some bad news as I can't comply with your "thirdly" request above....as I need your address:) Please PM me. - Dean
All,
Today I mailed tags to Jaylee, Frieman, Erik, Maserich, Gary S, Greg and MikeF. Please do let me know when they arrive.
I have a few more to finish up before sending tags to Jon and Nigel.
Hope you enjoy the tags.
Thanks again. - Dean
PS: We can add aluminum fuel tanks and aluminum radiators to the list.
Nigel, I notice we have new door handles under the 'we have the following to offer' heading. Are these actually available as I would quite like a pair?
What can I say, I need to update the website and bring back the shop, there's so much more 'stuff' to buy than I realised. I can only apologise for not keeping on top of the website, life....
I WILL TRY TO GET ON TOP OF IT As soon as possible. Please start sending me your best peerless pics with a paragraph about each car so I can populate the gallery with fresh pictures. Email to guidestar3(at)yahoo(dot)co(dot)uk
Thankyou Dean, Nigel and everyone else that has worked so hard to make this club flourish.
Hey Greg, why didn't you hold the Tag back until Christmas, she would have been even more impressed!
and Erik if it was only a Tag that was needed to get you going again I would have commissioned the Royal Mint to strike one and then hand delivered it!
Hello Dean,a huge thank you for the superb brass plaque I received today. I look forward to fitting it and featuring your skill and dedication in the magazine.
All the best,
Gary

Thank you Gary. Let me know if you need any additional pictures or a better description of the process. Just so you know the tags that you all received are actually etched in silicone bronze. It is a harder brass alloy, took longer to etch, and is twice the price as brass but produces a nicer tag in the end. Now, I'll admit that I thought I was etching them in solid brass. You see, I picked up the "brass" scraps weeks ago at the local metal supply yard. Some of the tags etched quickly, others I had to leave in the solution over night. I thought it was the acid/peroxide mix. When I went back to pick up a couple more scraps the counter helper pointed out that I had a mix of silicone bronze and brass scraps - he explained the difference. It would have been helpful if they put then in different bins. In any case, I opted for the silicone bronze.
I am working in reproducing the aluminum diamond plate sill and trunk coverings using a similar process, but instead of using a laser printer to create the mask, I am using vinyl. I don't have a vinyl cutter so I have had to rely on a shop. Unfortunately I have had to send it back twice as the shop didn't hold the dimensions to my original artwork, and they are fully across the country so I find myself waiting for shipping. I'll update the other thread once I get that a little farther along. My tests with the close but wrong pattern look promising.
The body tag arrived in the wilds of the Scottish Highlands today. Many thanks. It is superb. All I need to do now is keep it in a safe place in the hope that Santa is going to bring me a new body shell.
so sorry for not replying to any of your emails, my computer has failed (badly) and I have lost (at the moment anyway) all my contacts/email files etc!
I have finally got a new one up and running thanks to my Ph1 son, Adam. but whether he can do anything with the old hard drive we will have to wait and see
soooo, a word of warning. I have a solid state external hard drive that backs up every week BUT it does not back up any Outlook files! bollocks!
Anywho, back to the thread.......thank you so much again for helping out other owners by producing and sending out these great little badges AND then you go and collect up the money to support the site. you are a star!
thanks again and drop me a pm and we can sort things out.
What I found on the right hinge plate of #123 doesn't seem as impressive as the brass plates pictured in the previous entries. Does anyone else have one like the attached?
aaaar that would be the third design then! This has only just come to light thanks (mainly) to Alan House, former registrar and owner of the Warwick GT prototype.
it seems that Mr Whittit had at least three different badges for his business.
The first badges have the address of Sipson road which was on the corner with Bath road.
Due to the requisition of the land (including his factory) for London Airport he finally moved to High Street, Yiewsley in 1952.
As for which is the correct one for your car....I don't know!
I suspect that they had a large box of these and carried on using them after they moved factories and for the oversea's market it didn't really matter as they were never going to call round!
The only badge that I have seen that can be verified to being on a Peerless with the right address is Tom Wardley's which car no 94.
this proves the point that new badges were around with old ones as yours is no 123!
Thanks Nigel, The bin theory makes good sense to me. The interior and exterior paint on #123 should be finished by the end of next month. I have high hopes for the fabrication of the new Peerless emblems and headlight rims as I think they will complete my car (except for two small body omissions). Will send pics of my fin-less wonder then. All your good work is much appreciated by this car nut.
Hello gents, did these brass tags come on phase 2's .... are they still available if so ? I am still pieceing together as best i can my project car- 59 modified gt.
I made allot of progress making it a driver again..
thanks for any help- I did get a peerless tag repo from Nigel-- with some other things.. Great Chap he is!
