yea I remember Classic Le Mans, 2002. me and my mate Jimmie (911) went down the Mullsanne straight (track laps) everything was shaking but I got 122mph and Jim confirmed......as he came past at 134mph!

my vision was so misted over in the colour red that I forgot about the sharp right hander at the end, brake fad like you wouldn't believe....nearly lost me Crepe's down the foot-well... disbelief

and a nice lady took a pic of us both and sent it to me. notice I'm keeping the German engineering at bay........no

Yes, possibly not trying hard enough Gary.

But the 110+ is as real as it ever gets, because the speedo was calibrated immediately before Gary
went to France, and because it was a distance event, verified by the Beaujolais run organisers on the event.

The only way to get a more accurate number would be to take it to Bonneville Salt Flats.

I really don't know how fast the old barge would go, I always ran out of bottle, and these speeds
are very, very naughty on public roads.

Wow, that is nice

Does it have worm & peg steering?biggrin

These are seriously fast cars, 240 Hp/1200kg?
Many of them ended up in a tree.
Is this the traction controlled type?

Its about as fast as my Elise (118 Hp/750kg), to 70ish mph, after that you will disappear on the horizon.

Please be carefull with that, oh and don't give the keys to Adam and Jake!

This is the chap who had the warwick white metal kits manufactured. This one for sale I think is manufacturer in the uk they also did the 1958 Lemans car. need to check and will update.

He is a nice chap. I went to his house when he had the Warwick made. He has an amazing 1.43 scale collection of cars. He commisions models and then makes them adding detail. I have followed him on ebay over the years and I am amazed at the prices he achieves. Interseting to see what this peerless achives.  He also has a a 1901 Humbrette I saw it complete the hillclimb at Kopp Hill a couple of years ago.

I do have one Warwick kit left I might let go if there is any interest.

In 1963, I bought a 1960 Peerless.  My wife and I traveled the coast line in California and drove the Peerless on old Highway One. It was a time we both still talk about. We drove the Peerless to several national parks, and have photos of deer and bears approaching our Peerless for food. This was back before the park service stopped the feeding of wild animals. As our children were born, the Peerless became too small for our family needs, and we sold it in 1968. At this point in my life, you guessed it, I'm trying to find a Peerless. We want to relive old memories. My wife and I have been married for 53 years, and our four children are grown and on their own. If anyone has a Peerless for sale, please let me know. I would be interested in an unrestored example as well as a "driver." A the prices have increased, I don' think I can afford a fully restored Peerless. Yes, i was disappointed not to see a Peerless or Warwick as part of this feature. It would have been a logical addition to the group test.

I sometimes feel that motoring journalists follow the path of least resistance and if it isn't from a famous marque or have a racing pedigree then it's unlikely to be included in a group test (although I will admit the Rochdale is the oddball here).

For many years I had a Reliant Se5A as a daily driver and it used to frustrate the life out of me when such a fantastic and groundbreaking car (and way better than the 3L Ford Capri of the same era) was constantly ignored and excluded from group tests but the name and lack of sporting pedigree probably counted against it.

In many ways, the both Reliant GTE's and Peerless GT's face similar problems in the UK at least. Hugely undervalued and lack of recognition not helped by journalists unwilling or unable to seek out the rare and unusual.

I saw the C&SC group test too and did wonder why they avoided our cars and the Scimitar.
In spite of ten years of monthly deadlines in two internationally available magazines, thousands of words and hundreds of photos pushing the Peerless/Warwick brand our cars are still relatively obscure beyond my former episodes in Classics Monthly and current Sagas in Practical Classics.
Maybe I've put everyone off, sorry? Only kidding, I get good feedback about my car and how it looks. The general impression is they are so rare.
My suggestion for anyone wanting their car to be featured is to take a selection of five or six photos and send them to the features writer or deputy editor of your preferred publications.
Give magazines easy access to your car and it will likely pay dividends. Chasing cars is a chore for journalists so make it easy for us/them.
Triumph World must be prime candidate for a feature, surely?

I think most of the current running cars have been featured in at least one journal at some time over the years.
