I've done a little more work on my car, helped (and hindered) by the children running around while I'm doing it!
The steel A-post was a Phase 2 version so in the wrong place when I put my lovingly repaired Phase 1 hinges back on. After a reasonable amount of swearing I put the A-post in the correct place and now the driver's door is on. I now need to do the same with the passenger side.....
A few photos to follow over the weekend
Atle, when I looked at the photos of your heater, how does the mechanism work at the bottom? The part where it directs air to the floor or to the screen? I've been thinking of putting a Triumph Herald or MGB airbox on the bottom of the heater because there's nothing on mine except for a big open slot.
2 year old daughter, getting into the spirit of things. In her imagination she's probably powering out of Becketts corner with a touch of opposite lock
Great seeing your children is interested in the reebuild of your car. I got the same entusiasme (problem) in my garrage some days. My children is 3 and 4 years old, and they are more than willing to help daddy.....
I've been busy welding up the door hinge plates on my car so I'll post a few pictures up. The driver's door is on (and fits!!), the passenger's side is ready to fit in.
Well, I'm here, check in most days, although there doesn't seem to be much active posting. I can't really talk though, it's not like I'm a huge poster here either!
Proof, a car with a door on it (actually 2 doors but I'm not counting the door resting on the roof)
The A post plate, pretty much guessed on the assembly method here. The bracket inside the door has had the rust cut away but it needs some extra fabrication to meet up with the fibreglass again. It's just roughly positioned for the moment
How the passenger's side looks. Empty!
I've got a fuel tank in the boot instead of the original ones in the sills, so the back end of the sill is empty. Is there normally a panel that fills up this gap or is it just the fuel tank?
